So today at work 3 girls out of the 7 of us working were all 'sick'... two of them just laid on the floor of our back office, and did fuck-all, and the third one 'couldn't speak', so she sat in a chair in the office, wrapped in a blanket. All these girls like to create their own drama, and seriously complained about everything. Every once in a while, one of them would come out, moan a bit, and then go back. Finally we got the one who couldn't speak to go home, because she was completely useless.  The rest of us were kinda pissed, because we were doing all the work (not like it was extremely busy, but still) and they were getting paid the sit around and do nothing. Had this been any other job, they would either be sent home or forced to suck it up, and I even told them that.Seriously, I was so sick of their bitching that I told them I was not feeling sorry for them, because if they really were feeling that shitty, they should have not come to work etc etc. I am pretty sure that they think I am a bitch now, but frankly don't care. The amber's probably broken but I don't care. I already searched all places with no luck and even sweet talked a man with a metal detector into helping me out at the park. As a pair they were pretty pricey but are worth almost nothing on their own. I realize this is a long shot but these earings mean so much to me. PHOTO CONTEST [ Sunday, July 6th @ 12:02am] ontd_garbage [to_biased] 2 things: 1) Apparently everybody wants to do portraits, so I guess let's do that. But since not all of us have model friends that like to pose for 2 hours, I suggest we make the theme "people" in general. Not just close-ups of faces but anything as long as at least one person is depicted. Is this okay? 2) Everybody and their mom seemed to have a problem with how the contest was run, so if you have any suggestions how it could be improved post them here. I'm open to implementing more restrictions on photoshopped pictures, as long as this won't lead to a submission process that will piss everyone off and leave us with 5 contestants. I think the voting went really well but if you think another way of doing it would work better, post that here. Also, if anyone wants to help me (preferably someone who knows more about photography than me), I would appreciate that. It took me 2.5 hours just to make the first 6 polls. So if we can agree on something, I will open submissions tomorrow. 40

FOOOOOOOD and July 3rd. [ Saturday, July 5th @ 3:17pm] knifedance I went to the Taste of Chicago and I got hit on by so many black and hispanic men that I was almost frightened. My mom and I were leaving the ticket booth after acquiring our tickets and these two black guys were waiting in line and when I walked by, one of the black guys leaned in and was like "Ho-la...". But like, maybe he thought he was being clever with the whole "hola" thing and me being hispanic...thing. Anyway, I   could go into detail with this, but it would only creep me out further. The Taste was so congested that there were areas where people couldn't even move -- somewhat reminiscent of my school's hallways. It was just hundreds of people standing around, moving a few feet every so often. Then! At one point, my mom and I were in this big crowd when all of a sudden you could hear that something awry was happening. Pandemonium broke loose when suddenly everyone started to push and some guy deep within the crowd yelled, "NIGGA'S GOT A GUN!" I was all excited and waiting for the crowd to part so I could see who got shot ,but it turned out that someone had fireworks? Or something? I don't know, three guys got in a fight and somehow fireworks were involved. BUT ANYWAY, the food was delicious. The fireworks were...loud. ( LOOKY LOOKY HERE WE'VE GOT PICTURES )
